you can keep the common coins which anyone can find. That is the kind of artifact which is truly history. What fun to try to imagine what it is , who owned it, and how they lost it. ( well, ok I'll take the coins too)

no worries if it's the same anyway. I wonder about the center of each side, they look odd. Are they damaged?

Hi,

Maybe something to do with Wine based on Grape vine and Grapes in motif (may have hung off Bottle with chain attached too where marks on front are).

With a definite rim around it, my guess is that it's the back to a small, handheld vanity mirror, or something of that nature.

I think You got it! The insets on mine are very much like this where the Gems use to be. Im confident that it is a sash pin Brooch! Thanks everyone! Now to find a photo of what it use to look like!!!

I have never seen one with distinct sharp edges on it before. Usually, they would be rolled like the example shown.
