dug this today and dont have a clue.. looked up some bridle and tac parts but didnt find anything matching. the quarter is for size comparison and it swivels in the middle probably brass thanx

I'm thinking it's an antique brass rope swivel... maybe for a horse lead, or any other number of miscellaneous needs.

Since salt water doesnt affect brass,maybe it was for boating or sailing....alot of flag poles used brass connectors and as mentioned harness or dog lead
