Hi. Any ideas about this item? It looks to be a porcelain ceramic. The total diameter is about 10.5 inches. The diameter of the hole in the center is a little over 2.5 inches. The total thickness is about 2.25 inches. On one side are the words "non-splashing pail" and a reg no (? registration number) 366443, which - if I am not mistaken - was first used in the year 1900. One of my biggest questions is which side goes up. If the side with the letters/numbers goes up, then it might be the lid of bucket or pail. (I don't have that piece). If the side with the letters/numbers goes down, then maybe it is an old dentist's spit basin (spitoon). Or is it something entirely different? Appreciate any ideas. Thanks.
