I was hunting a creek bed and pulled this large rock from a tree root ball. It is broke but there is a grove more than half way around it.. I left it in the woods because I wasnt sure if it was worth it. Could this be natural?? I figured better to ask someone who knows more than me before carrying it out all that way.
Also, found a small flint in the creek that look like a leaf almost... its not a typical shape for a bird point around here. It looks unbroken but figured its possible its part of something bigger.... I included 2 pictures of it so yall can get a better idea of the shape.

From the photos both look natural to me.

You would have to wash the one with a groove for us to know. Is there water close to where you found it? The only thing I can think of it being used for would be a canoe weight but Id still have to see it clean. Nice pile of Sherds

It was on a creek bed near a river. I am leaning towards natural on the rock.
