✅ SOLVED Any ideas what this might be?

Thought it was an escutcheon of some sort, but then realized it had tabs on the back, and it is quite thin at only [SUP][SUB]1[/SUB][/SUP]/[SUB]16[/SUB] of an inch.
It measures 1 [SUP]1[/SUP]/[SUB]2[/SUB] inches overall diameter and the hole is [SUP]15[/SUP]/[SUB]16[/SUB] of an inch in diameter.
There is some evidence of silver gilt on it.
Might it be part of a brooch or picture locket

I know it isn't worth a whole lot, but I am curious as to what it might be.

Looks like the tabs held something in the back almost like a picture frame? Tony

I like the broach idea. Probably held a stone or medallion at one time.

Both of those ideas would probably fit the bill.
