Is it heavy?, That thing had to read a dollar on the ACE..very cool looking

Yes it's kinda heavy for as thin as it is. What do you think it might be. Looks like a Templars cross in the center?

yomo,

I was going to say ceiling sconce......like they used in the early part of the century and ran an electrical wire through for the ceiling light....but the hole seems a bit on the small side...either that or a decorative fitting for furniture.

Found this today with our new MD Garrett 250.

I've found those type things before (with leafy designs, etc...). Not exactly like that, but similar. And when I'm finding those things, it's always in the context of an old site (like under side-walk tearouts, old-town building demolition, ghost-town type relicky site, etc... So whatever they are, they're old ! :)

Looks like it is slightly convened with the front up. Resembles cast iron with a plating or paint still showing. I was also thinking ceiling trim, but it is to small for that. Perhaps a decorative base of a candle holder. It could fit so many usages for an older time period. List it in the what is it thread. Frank
