That is a small lip stick tube, made that way during WW2 to save brass for the munitions companies....Bonz

yes indeed is a lipstick tube i cleaned it up and the top has tangee on it, still the circle thing any ideas what it came from bike , motor cycle im racking my brain lol

If you remove the lens, you might be able to tell what it's for. Looks mechanical rather than electrical. I suspect it's for temperature, but, just my WAG.
