...it came into my family probably 40 yrs. ago, purchased from an antiques store I'd guess. I think it is very old, based on the way it was built.

I am hoping someone can give me any clue, based on included pictures, about it's age, value... anything?

It is about 10" tall, and the top is approx 10.5 x 5.5". It is still very solid/ sturdy.

Thanks for looking!
J.

Where did/does your family live?

Milking stool maybe.

It definitely looks old...as far as dating it goes, the way it was constructed is so crude it may reflect the skill of the builder rather than the style of a time. But it probably is very old.

.... The milking stool I have has single leg to balance on.

Then it can double as a duck stool out in the marsh....
:laughing7:

looks well used and well built

N.J. It may have been bought in Pennsylvania though.

I found this online searching "American Colonial Milking Stool"....it is similar.

Weathered like it has been outside for awhile. Handmade. Likely old but impossible to really date, I think.

THANK YOU for all the replies... duh, of course it's not a foot stool...most definitely a milking stool. It is a keeper though.
