Just found out how to upload pics. and this is my first. Sorry if this doesn't come out too well. This is an aluminum (I think) or zinc token from I don't know when. Any information would be appreciated as to time frame and value. Thanks in advance!

going out on a limb here,but i think you will find there is a general store owned by the mine,and these tokens were used for advances on their pay checks.

it's in the edkins coal token book. it is a R10 rarity. and picture scrip to boot. very very nice and especially with the elk head. collectors pay premium to get the rarer picture scrip.

there also is a $1.00 token i believe it is the same except for the denomination and size. the nickle is 20mm and the $1.00 is 33mm

yes it is aluminum.
and it was used in the 'company' general store.
you could draw scrip in advance of wages when in need of items from the store.
