Just got another email-

Just wanted to update both of you since it is now the end of the day. I have had one landowner tell me "no". (Susan Yates) I have one still thinking about it (Bill Jacob) and will let us know on Monday and I have two other landowners (George Lisosky and Rodney Reagan) that I am awaiting a call back from. I plan to visit with the City of Uvalde as well about some property they have.

Will be back in touch on Monday.

OK,here it is.Just got this email:
Good morning Ron! Good news! If your group still has time to make it down our way I have secured some property at no charge for them to hunt on either weekend. October 24-25 or October 31- November 1. The property is a 600 acre farm however, there will be areas pinpointed for your group that had some old homesteads and gathering spots; the owner will be happy to show you where. Awhile back he recovered an old military pistol that still had shells in it. The property owners only request is that he retains any recoveries found.

I hope this is suitable for your event and please let me know if and when your group will be coming. We will be happy to assist in any way that we can!

Got this one also from my friend:Joanne has found you a place, if it's not to late. She has really worked hard on this one. Also, she is waiting to hear from Rodney Reagan on land he leases from Briscoe.

If it's too late for an October trip, these places should still be available for later.


I can understand the owner wanting to keep some items but I think if we talk to him,he will agree to letting any coins,etc go to whoever finds.What I need now is a hard list of everyone wanting to go.I vote for the 31/1 wknd.Halloween in Uvalde should be fun.Need to know how many in your group.Get ready for the countdown,evy.

Dang, drat and doggone it.

We'd love to go, but just can't swing it right now. Hubby's hours were cut and we've been feeling the pain ever since. So a trip that far away just isn't in the stars (and I used to live in Texas - west Texas, even!).

Everybody that goes had best take lots of pictures, and post 'em post haste (always wanted to say that - ha)

Understand Nan.I think some of them are just affraid to leave home.To some 600-800mi is a long way where it's just a good days drive to me.I'm 900mi away(nana) and I plan to leave at 1am and be there that afternoon.Heck it's 70-75mph all the way.If some were to team up and ride together it would even seem shorter.
