Naw, I can't make this one, Steve. Too many irons in the fire. Wish I could, but that's a loooong haul for me. I can barely make 400 miles in a day. I'd have to eat a week's vacation just in travel time! :P

Y'all remember WSD today. He's getting his other eyeball taken care of right now so he can have 20-20 vision in BOTH eyes to hunt with.

How much is the land owner of the 600 acres going to pay each of us to come detect his land and turn over everything we find. Do you think he would be up to paying our expensives, gas, lodging, detectors and college for our first born child? Just food for thought since it will affect how many will come.........I realize the work that has gone on so far in trying to secure a place a few of us can detect on has been difficult at best given the time frame. I think it would be great to hunt in this area because it is so different from what we have here but if we can't come up with a more equable place to hunt, maybe a spring hunt would be better and give more time to secure another place. Don't get me wrong, I'm ready to come there tomorrow but this is something to think about. Do you think the landowner would take cash from each of us to come hunt in order for us to keep anything we find. I think if we dug up something that was very valuable, consideration should be given the land owner.....whatcha think?

I'm trying to call the landowner to talk to him to see just what we can work out.I'm having storms right now and losing satelite signal from time to time but will let you know what I find out asap.Have to go and get my eye checked today also.Bear with me.Also,either wknd is ok with me you guys decide.Would the earlier wknd be better for you Burdie and Baggins and tin Nugget?

Daddy, just saw this post today. Where've I been? Out to lunch I guess. Can't make it either, especially if we have to give up our finds. I don't find much usually , but some day I might and I sure don't want to spend that much $$$ and have to give it up. I wouldn't mind donating to a museum, but not to a private individual. And besides, my buds aren't able to make it who and I would swap rides with either. So, hope the best to all. Wish I could make it, too far and snaky! Monty

OK,here's the skinny-I just got off the phone with george,the landowner.He said he didn't care what you keep,you can keep any loose coins,buttons,spurs or whatever.It's just what I thought it was,you can keep just about anything you find unless it's something big like a box of money ,etc.He doesn't know if there is anything to be found or not,it's just some old foundations and a place where people use to gather in the old days.You can drive right up to the area.He was drinking a beer as we talked so guess that would be ok also.I told him if everyone didn't start panicking and dropping out,we would be there the wknd of the 24th.Let's get the word out and a final list.
