Any Lake Divers?

I recently dove at a small lake and when I got down under the diving platform there was about 2 feet of mud just floating near the bottom. I was unable to do much detecting because of this and one of my friends said it was due to the lake turning over. He says this is a known accurance due to temperature change from shallow to deep. Does anyone know anything about this and will it get better?

All fresh water bodies of water do the turning over thing. It depends on the time of year and the temperature changes. It usually only last for a couple of weeks at most, again depending on the temperature changes. Here in Utah we have a couple of warm spring fed lakes and they will turn over opposite of the other lakes, usually in the middle of the winter.
