Any local gold prospectors in the Chicago area?

Just moved back to Chicago with a new hobby, yep panning for gold. Anyone in the area interested in getting together and looking for some of that gold they say is up north here?
I am heading out this weekend for the Rock and primitive camping looking to see if there is color on them banks.
