any of you ever get a good whippin'? whats your take on whacking?

when i was young boy my father died when i was 8 years old.
after that my mom remarried my step dad. there was three of us brothers living at home still and every time we messed up he would whip the crap out of us,
and if we got lippy we got popped in the lippy.
well we learned our lesson, we all turned out pretty good after some ruff teenage years.

I love the man for everything he did and everything he taught me.

well i had three daughters that started to get spanked when young, but with the formation of dcfs that quickly stopped.
now they don't listen very well or follow any rules and they are mouthy.

but they are all grown up, and are what they are, and do what they do. they are still good kids and i love them lots


any of you ever get some good whippings?
how do you feel about the whipping of the children?

I use to get a leather belt across my butt regularly. Thing is, it did me a world of good. My father was and is a good man, very kind hearted, and if not for his firm hand I'd probably would have ended up in a lot of bad places.

Yes my dad used to whip me with a belt when I got out of line. I think that what kids need these day. . I remember when my son was in grade school and he came home one day and told me that it was against the law to spank him (he was told this in school) I told he I help bring him in the world and I could take him out. I believe if you can spank a child as long as you do not leave any marks. There is a different in spanking and beating. If they would bring back spanking in the schools maybe the kids wold not turn out as bad as they do today....Matt

my stepdad was a alcoholic so sometimes the belt got a little ruff,
but the reason for the wacks was still our fault.
i think a little spank goes a long way

yes we got more than whipped sometimes. i took a set of channel locks to the ol' noodle once from my mom after i pushed my stepdad down. my poor little brothers took some good whacks (beatings) all of it stopped after i called him out to the yard... i grew up pretty stout.
when he got older he told us he was sorry and we forgave him. it probably wasn't easy raising 3 half grown boys that wasn't yours..
it wasn't all bad though got my first shotgun when i was 8 and was hunting alone and trapping at 9

I had an older sister who stabbed me in the arm with a fork, a big brother who smacked me across the knees with a baseball bat, (cracking both knee caps), and so on and so on. I usually ended up getting the belt because quite frankly, "I was a little trouble maker!" I was small, but I sure knew how to piss'm off to the brink! Today we're all very close. I've had welts on my AS* for a week at a time....................."all deserved, all earned, and all eventually having the right effect."

Back in the early 1950,s i lived in the Projects Astoria Queens apartment buildings on the 11th floor right on the East river one day walking to school i heard this loud crash !! i looked over toward the river i saw that one of those small cruse ocean liner,s had hit the rock piles under the Whitestone Bridge OMG !! what a crash the whole bow was crushed people screaming running all over the ship you get the idea ,i stayed there all day watching the ship sink half way down in shallow water i did not think my mom would get a call from school PS109 that i was not in school why ? well when i got home she was livid !!! and asked me what happened i told her she beat the hell out of me with a wire coat hanger man did that hurt she was more upset that she had no idea all day where i was i was 6 years old back then kids were kind of safe to walk 4 blocks at a young age, not a good idea to walk a mile to watch the ship sink . i guess i deserved that one Dd60

Had my fair share but they were all well deserved! Made a better person out of me and I know it kept me from making a mess of my life when I became a teenager. To this day every time I see or talk to my dad I tell him how much I love him and what he means to me. By the way, I'm 63 years old now and I'm still a Daddies Boy.

yes i did and 99% i deserved .it taught me to be truthfull,not to do things i wasn't supposed to be doing and respect others and their property.he also gave us chores to do .this taught us that if we wanted things in life we had to work for them. up untill i was about 15-16 we all ate supper together every night . my father had rules that were to be followed. he could be strict at times but im glad he was the way he was i grew up knowing right from wrong grew up respectful of others and grew up with strong family values. so,yes i think if the child doesnt listen a crack in the a $$ might make them pay attention,also give them chores that way maybe they'll see a little hard work isnt going to kill 'em

This is a sore subject for me. Not that I regret any of the spankings I got deserved them all but because kids now a days don't get them and they should. A spanking never killed a kid a beating yeah but never a spanking. I don't believe in punching a kid or shaking the heck out of them but if you just tell them "thats is wrong and don't do it again" then they aren't going to learn or even remember it. Now if you spanked their butt a few times enough to make it sting then they will rememeber that. Heck now if you even think about spanking your kid they can sue you for abuse that is just plain wrong and stupid as hell. Now I have seen parents smack their kids across the face that is wrong. Smack them on the bottom and then leave the store without getting what you wanted or they wanted and take their butts home and put them in their room. A room without a dang computer and super expensive stereo, tv or a cell phone. All they need is an alarm clock to get up in the morning with. Maybe a small portable radio but that gets removed if they are being punished. The stereo and tv and computer can be in the living room. There are 2 kids where I live and they left a mess I told them to clean it up and they just shook their heads and pointed to their mom like to say "she will clean it up" man now that burned my hide I wanted to take them brats by the arms and make them clean up thier own mess. And yes chores is a good thing makes them appreciate the money they get a little more.

i have been both propeerly whipped hard for bad behavior by my mother and father -- and beaten badly by a abusive stepdad because he was a drunk --and yes there is a huge differance between a "corrective hard spanking" one that might leave a bruise --and a beat down , kicked in the ribs with cowboy boot abusive stomping till you spit blood from cracked ribs.
(that s o b --never touched me again after i managed to use a butter knife to cut away the lock out of the gun rack one day and met him at the door with his own double barreled "rabbit ear" shotgun -- he was drunk as usual for friday night --ready to beat on the family again -- he said "you mighta pulled that gun loose but the ammofor it is locked in the drawer-- and i'm gonna beat the tar outta you" -- i was setting in a rocking chair gun in my lap across the room from the door--i open my hand dropping two "back up" shells that i had on the floor --like the these i said --as they hit with a thud -- i swung the gun about and pulled the hammers back -- aiming waist high -- and said " you step thru the door - i'll kill you, your not beating on us again === i heard my mom (who was asleep and had woke up from the yelling) yell --- son, don't do it -- his brother's a cop --you'll go to jail for life or they will kill you.
after he left--- my mom took me to a kindy old lady that lived two doors down (who had said to her at the store --its a shame the way he treat you) and begged her to take me and put me on a bus at the bus station to florida right away . -- it took awhile for mom to get away from JW Dukes --he had her working at another one of his brothers stores right down the block , her weekly paycheck was handed over directly in cash to JW by his brother each week so mom never had any cash money --household food was gotten from the brothers "store" and deducted form mom's "pay" anything that had to be gotten otherwise -- JW paid for it -- thus keeping mom cashless and unable to flee-- plus he threated that he would hunt her down if she fled -- it took a couple years but mom kept folks lil bits of change that they left -- a few pennies here and dime there and hid it until she had enough to flee with.-- her and my younger brother .

i do believe in spanking childen but not abusing them --i do know the differance first hand -- children have to have a strong "boss" in their lives to guide them even when they think they do not need it and want to run wild and do as they please --and at times you do need to let them know you are that "boss" --their parent -- too many folks want to be their kids "buddy" --- be their parent first -- then you can be "buddies"

Spank the daylights outa them!!! My Pop made a wooden paddle when I was a kid, drilled holes in it so it would kinda whistle as it made its way to my bottom. I had to sign & date it everytime it was used on me & it hung on the kitchen wall. Best thing that Pop coulda done.........I was a rebel & a smarta$$ & had every whoopin comin to me. Now, that being said, there is a difference between a butt whooping & a beating. The idea isnt to inflict physical pain or injury but rather to shock the child & let them know there is a limit, a line that they had best not cross. I spanked my kids & they turned out to be awesome, responsible adults never the less.

I certainly had my share of the belt across the butt Got it for a number of reasons, misbehaving in general, wiseacre (still am today ) cutting school to see a free movie, you name it, that belt had my name on it.

I remember the funniest thing I ever heard about a beating was from Richard Pryor. He said his grandmother would make him collect his own switches for his whoopin

I got my share; most of them deserved.
I remember when I had asked 2 of my teenage sons to do the dishes. They wanted to finish watching a tv show so I told them they could, then do the dishes. Later I went back thru the living room and they were still watching tv but a new program. I told them they had better get up and get the dishes done or someone was going through a wall! The younger of the two said, "Dad, if you do that, we can turn you in for child abuse." I told him. "That's okay with me, child abuse is not a life sentence and I'll be back." They got up and did the dishes.

i told my kids if you don't listen, i'm calling dcfs to come get ya.
i too took a kick to the rib cage before... that was one of the worse.
had to eat a lot of soap from the bar too. :P no good tasty

My dad's favorite tool of discipline was the extension cord , i deserved it but if it was not for the strict discipline i would have been a whole different person ..

i used to have to go to the willow and pick a switch. and well.... they all sucked.

and as for chores, thats all we did.
cows, pigs, chickens,
fire wood all winter (we had no furnace until i moved out as an adult) it sure was cold upstairs.
worked on all our broken vehicles.
mowed, raked,
dishes (and lots of them) broken water pipes.....
the works, you name it we did it, more than once.
but i learned alot....
kids these days act like they got it ruff. they wouldn't know ruff if it smacked 'em in the head.
