Found this in York PA. Looks like it may be gold plated. The back looks like a pin or clip is broke off and missing not sure. Any thoughts on what it may be?

A clip on earring minus the clip?

Thanks diggummup, My wife thinks its to heavy to be an earring. Could a metal of some sort hung off this? Just don't think its a earring.

My first thought was from a shoe or boot for lacing them up.Sorta like these..............................Decorative Shoe Eyelets Exporters,Decorative Shoe Eyelets Manufacturers India, Exporters,Decorative Shoe Eyelets Suppliers,Indian ,India

But after looking at them & most have a triangular piece & yours seems kinda big for that.My second thought might be a better one.That being some kind of strap piece for a purse or luggage or simular.

I agree with your wife DDoug, it does look too heavy to be an earing, maybe an attachment for a piece of furniture.

I did find that the back of this old clip has a hook shape clip that seems to match the shape of the missing one. Check out the fake diamonds lol.
