Six detectorists and a few high school kids from Austin took part in this dig. The area was 37 acres and was mostly covered with cactus and weeds as high as 4 ft due to a broken down tractor. The landowner showed us where a primitive road (about 12' wide) which was going thru his and other properties that was used before they made the county road and apparently went to El Carmen church in Losoya. Apparently nothing of significant value was found. I hope we return to this place again, there is so much area that needs to be detected. Landowner showed us his collection of arrowheads he has found on the property.
I am posting some pictures of the vegetation, some of our volunteers, and objects found my me,
what looked like a sword, turned out to be an iron bar 21 1/2 " long, a non ferro magnetic chunk of unknown metal about 2 1/2" long, two golf balls of which one is egged shape for some unknown reason, and non metalic round rocks that look like musket balls. Anyway had fun detecting and meeting people.
