So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). I believe it's called a "Cullet".

Slag glass broken up after what's left in the pouring kiln cools.

But, depending on the size of your sample, it might be broken from a finished glass item.

For future reference: when you post an image of an unknown item put a coin or ruler in the image with it - we have no idea the size otherwise.
