I usually dig up big signals and get a lot of copper, lead, and brass junk. Is it worth the trouble to clean up and sell? Does anyone know if salvers buy this kind of thing? I see that copper is over 3 dollars a pound and lead is at approx 1 dollar...(I know how to sell gold, but I keep coming up with this stuff instead) :icon_scratch:...thanks for any info.

Yes! I clean it all up to investigate everything (I have had MANY good finds found in my junk bin!). Once a year I got and make close to 150.00 on brass and copper recycling. Wish I could find someone to take the lead. I know I have 40lbs of it here.

Many folks say that they only save the big stuff... Well, most of the weight of what I turn in each year comes from all the small stuff.

Recycle it. Otherwise you're throwing free money away. And we should be investigating all the bits anyhow, to see if there is a good find hiding in there. Why not save and recycle them after the dirt is gone?

Find someone who fish's and will melt it to make sinkers with it.

Scrap is almost 11.00 a hundred pounds right now. Im at over 700 bucks for the year from just what I pick up free from work and the amount I dig that I throw in there with it.
