Anyone ever met a pure blooded Indian?

I did once when i was about 12 years old..I was camping in West Virginia at the time ...I was walking along a path near the river and i hear a voice say whats that you have all over your body ''Poison Ivy'' He replied .I said yes!! Well at the same time he was talking to me, he reached over and picked some poison Ivy Leaves..'''He said eat these leaves and you will never be allergic to Ivy again ...I told him Heck no ...And got scarred and ran back toward camp

Is that true what he said ,Eat poison Ivy and never get it again? I would think you would harm your insides!!

I'm guessing that if you ate poison ivy you'd never have to worry about ANY illness again...know what I mean?

My great, great Grandmother was a full blooded Cherokee. I only met her a couple of times when I was really young, about 4 or 5 years old. Her name was Many Summers. If you've ever seen pictures of the Indian squaws that were little squat women with their hair parted in the middle and braided on both sides, that is exactly what she looked like.

If it was a choice between putting a bullet in my head and eating poison ivy, I think I'd go with the bullet. It'd be faster and a whole lot less painful. I'm finishing my first round of the stuff of the season. Stuff got into my system somehow... Lips and hands swole up bad. I couldn't imagine eating the stuff on purpose. Ray

I just dress up Commando and bash through fields of the stuff. I chop the roots and sling it up into the air and into my face. I whip it around with my detector and searchcoil.


Then I wash about 10 times and all good to go.

What it sounds like is you was near camp fire / burning brush that had poison Ivy in it...I had to get a shot one time, I was near camp fire that was full of poison Ivy ......Now that i know what it looks like ,I dont get it as much...Even when you wear pants, boots, long sleaves, the oil is still there so watch .I just dont even look at it

MY wife used to "brag" that she wouldn't catch either poison ivy or oak, last year she pulled some out along the fence, then pushed the hair out of her face well, several doctor visits and steroid shots later

Well, lets see, my maternal grandfather was a 3/4 blood Kitsai (registered as a Wichita), but that dont qualify...heres his mom. We called her "Big Mom". She died when I was just a little kid. I just remember hearin' Kitsai spoken with a lot of other real real old folks when I was little and supposed to be sleepin' in the next room.

while serving in the marines in the late 80's, we had a full blooded indian with our platoon. his name was tree giantvalley. no joke!!!! he always chewed tobacco and even chewed on cigarettes when he didnt have any. this guy looked just like the stereotype indian...he was big...mumbled when he talked, and was an alcoholic. we would go to the club hoping he wouldn't notice us, because he always got into a fight, even with us (his friends). you could beat the living hell outta him and he would still get up and want more.

A lot of Native Americans take offense to this stereotype! Only about 1/4 of the Native American population in the US today actually consume alcohol. Compare that to your average white American! I think they're doing pretty good if you ask me.

No I have never met a full blooded Indian but have met alot of 1/4 indian mostly cherokee
