I found this a while back on a village site that dates from archaic all the way to contact.
I'm stumped. ( fiber/sand temper)

Thank you everyone.
I think I'm leaning towards more modern as well.. Hippy and Surf..brought up two things I was looking closely at and make good sence. The fiber does appear different than the native fiber of other pieces. Kiln furniture is as best an explanation as I've heard. NC.. you could be on the right track as well.
It was one of those pieces I kept looking at perplexed. Thank you all for taking the time to look and offer your thoughts.
Also... Bravo... That's a cool peice.
