There is a Monte on another forum that likes the smaller 4inch coil better than the 4x6 coil, but I have the 4X6 and the 6 inch Bullseye coils for my2nd detector an IDX. ( uses same coils as the XLT)

When I got the 4X6 I used it in my back yard. I got a dime reading and I used a golf T to mark it, and an 2 inches away from it was a pulltab signal...I marked that spot with a golf T also.

I then put the 6 inch coil on for a comparison. I scanned the golf T's and only got 1 signal the pulltab signal.....I dug it and got it out and rescanned... I then got the dime signal and it was 2 inches deeper and about 2 inches to the side. If I just had used the 6 inch coil.. I would NOT have dug..since it only read --pulltab....And I would have missed a nice 1944 Merc dime.
The 4X6 coil is on my IDX all the time.

How about the depth it will detect? I just received mine and haven't tried it yet.
