I've talked to him a couple times this past year. He had some joint surgery that has effectively taken him out of the gold game. I understand that he can now set off every metal detector at an airport with some new joints that were installed over the years. I'm still hoping that once my battle with cancer is over, he'll be able to join us for a reunion dig this Memorial weekend, but I haven't gotten a commitment yet. I'll pass the word that you guys are asking about him.

I've gotten through airports security with no problems. BUT Federal buildings do a "let's see " when their detector's go off ! They have several spots to chose from on me ! One thing to remember is "DON'T TRY TO KID AROUND WIT THEM SECURITY GUY'S UNLESS YOU WANT TOBE DETAINED AWHILE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hefty ,having gone through this myself (2 knee replacements) I can tell you that it will get somewhat better as you get through your P.T. and time will help you out ! It won't get back to 100% ( at least I didn't) But you won't be on crutch's . Keep at it and you'll be getting better if you keep at it ! GOOD LUCK & QUICK & SPEEDY RECOVERY
