It is a small iron piece. It measures 2 1/8 inches X 1 5/8 inch. Found in the vicinity of a saddle shield and bridle rivets.

It's similar to an old bucket or pot bail holder.

Hmm, that is interesting. The area apparently was an old CW era camp site, so.....could be.

I found one of these yesterday also, in an area with old tack buckles and an 1880 Indian Head Penny. Now I, too, know what it is. Thanks guys!
