Anyone know what this thing is?

It is a strap that is weighted on both ends and in the center is a bowl that is attached. Have no clue what it is or what is was used for?

Could be a censer, I cannot find anything of the sorts on Google. The weighted strap was definitely for laying this over something so bowl would be upright...so a censer makes sense!

So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). There is a rivet that holds the bowl and on back the rivet or fastener it says "Carr East Co." I found one thing about Carr East co, and it was someone else asking about a gun holster that had this same rivet or fastener on it.

There is or was a Carr East Company in Boston in the early part of the 1900's I believe. They made grommets and fasteners and such and have several patents regarding them. Interesting piece.
