I was shopping around for a 10 1/2" coil for my SS and came across a great deal on a C.S.C. The Tesoro site says it performs in the 4-7 inch coil range. I'm wondering what real world depth I can expect on the salt beaches and if the double-d operates more smoothly than the stock coil. I'm also curious about small gold sensitivity vs. the stock coil.

Thanks and HH.

This isn't going to help much as I never used the CSC on the Sand Shark, only on the Tiger Shark and got that depth on coins. I have found a couple earring studs with it too. The 3"X18" coil is hot down the center so you don't have to X the target. Just pull it back while doing the Wiggle back an forth. Sliding the coil forward slowly gets a signal response when the target is off the front tip. Works on the back Heel of the coil but is more difficult. But this is on a VLF Tiger Shark and not the SS.

Thanks for the reply Sandman :icon_thumright:
If this coil on the PI can still hit rings at 8"-12" I will be very happy.

It has been my experience with the CleanSweep coil that it greatly reduces dept.
If the standard coil will hit a dime 7" down in the sand ... dont expect more than 4" with the CleanSweep coil.
Like many things in life there is a trade off or compromise in performance.

IMHO you would be better off with a larger concentric coil. (12")

Willee, thanks for the feedback.
I was actually calling around trying to find a 10 1/2 coil and came across the deal on the CSC. Due to the shortage of new water proof coils right now and the reasonable price I had to buy it. Unfortunately the coil didn’t work :crybaby2: and is on its way to Prescott, AZ to see if it can be fixed or if the connector can be used on another coil :dontknow:. I'm hoping to hear some news one way or another in a few days. When I get a CSC that works on my PI, I'll let you guys know how it performs on the beach. Right now I have my fingers crossed hoping the boy's at Tesoro can get me fixed up. :help:
