The silver trickle here as of late has slown down to a bare minimum. Guess I should call it a drip or a drizzle. Finds are scarce . . . but hoping for a rebound soon. :icon_sunny:

Since the New Year, the meakly finds are:

1-90% Kennedy---->(out of 8 boxes)
4-40% Kennedy---->(ibid)
5-Roosies------------->(out of 4 boxes)
3-War Nickels-------->(out of 3 boxes)
12-Wheats------------>(40 cwr)

Glad to see some nice posts as of late for inspiration.

my finds so far this year have been about the same as yours. I had a couple of decent half boxes last week but got skunked on all 4 of my half boxes this week. Dimes & nickels have been a little better for me though. I've searched about 10-12 dime boxes so far this year - avg about 1 keeper per box (including a nice '45 Merc earlier this week) and I've found 3 silver war nics from 2 nickel boxes so far.

Hopefully the pickens' will start to get a little better for both of us soon. :)

I agree, the finds have been sparse so far this year. So far I have
9 war nickels and 1 rosie. Got my first box of quarters yesterday
and got skunked. Box of pennies for tonight.

Those are much better totals than I have for the new year, which = zero. Of course, I won't find anything if I don't get out and look. Sort of have cabin fever now, we went from 50 degrees 2nd week of January, to 20 degrees and 6 inches of snow.
Keep up the good work!

APush, you are not alone. Seems like a lot of us have been drying out in January so far. Myself, I've only got 1-40% and 1-War Nickel so far. Hoping for a nice thaw in the coming months. Happy Hunting.

happen to get any good wheaties in that mix?

always nice seeing a nice 90%er

Keep at it, I'm sure the silver will find it's way back into your boxes soon. I often think of the show Deadliest Catch with this hobby. There are days where the pots (boxes) are loaded with crab (silver) and then there are days where those guys have to "grind" it out to make there quota. Not that we all have quotas, but when you rip through 12+ boxes for a half dozen 40's, it would call that grinding.

I have noticed a slow down also, but i looked at my records from last year and noticed it was slow at this time last year. I will keep looking and we will find more silver. As long as we all stay healthy who really cares. Any way happy hunting and good luck. Brian

Slow start for sure Apush, but you'll luck will turn around. You have had some amazing finds in your time!

Only 1 40%'er so far this year. I gotta a new bank I just opened an account at, ordered a couple boxes of halves. They should be in on Thurs. It's a local community bank, not sure who their coin courier is yet. Hoping for the best.

Apush...those numbers do seem a little low for what you normally get. I'm just happy to find anything now. I think there are just more people searching. I can't hardly pick up anything without the teller asking me if I'm a collector. It's still out there but just harder to find.

Hello Apush , You might try asking for rolls here and there , in addition to your box orders. All of
my greater days CRH-ing , have involved small quantities (under 10) rolls of CWR. Argentium.

I thought that was a given?

Look on the bright side, Apush!!

With Silver getting ready to make its next move up, just finding any silver will be a bonus! =D

(Maybe another road trip for spring vacation is in order...? )

I hope your first month of back to school is going great!!

HSH Everyone! (RIP Rich Hartford)
