Well todays finds were meger..I searched two boxes of halves and one box of nickels the results were;

HALVES
1 1776-1979 proof kennedy
1 1991 kennedy proof

NICKELS
3 1943S
2 1942S
1 1898 V nickel

and a 1964D rossie silver dime rolled into one of the nickel rolls....
Thats all I found after 15 boxes of halves and 5 boxes of nickels...I will stay on the silver trail.....

Hey Doc,

For nickels thats pretty good, you could be doing a lot worse. Especially the silver dime find in the nickel roll! Be sure to look out for the 38 and 39 with mint marks and 1950, escpecially with the D mint mark. Keep us posted.

Ok call me dumb....why the 38 and 39 and the 50d??? Im a bit confused...enlighten me...Thanks...

Pre-1960 nickels carry a slight premium, and the key dates are worth significantly more. A 1950D is worth at least $5 or so in any condition that it is in. A lot of the people on this forum save pre-1960 nickels, including myself.

Well if anyone on the forum wants pre 60 nickels they can get them off me for 3x face value.I find those all the time.I go through alot of those dates.

Well, the common dates aren't worth that much. Maybe if you are lucky you can get someone to pay 1.5x face, but I doubt that much unless there are some key or semi-key dates in there.
