I am far and away no expert when it comes to points or arrowheads, but I have seen bronze age points that resemble this find, so I feel it's better to be safe than sorry. It was found in a New England farm field with known native American and early colonial activity. It is non magnetic, and rings up very nicely on the Legend right around 32. My first thought was squashed bullet, but the lead I dig up usually doesn't look like this.

7.75 grams
1.5 inches long
1 inch wide at widest point.

Thanks for having a look. I am just torn on this one. I have seen great finds that present themselves as common junk at first. If you imagine that one of the corners was broken off this piece, it just looks too similar to an arrowhead for me to ignore. Probably just a coincidence, but you never know!

If you are truly curious, I’d recommend taking it to a university and having it analyzed.

I see what you're seeing.
The curve and the side notch.
Probably copper/brass.
Off hand I don't have a link for the Kettle Points for the NE States areas.
Might have an example that shows similar to yours.

Fascinating. I had never heard of kettle points before. Even if this turns out to not be one of those, I now have something new to look for. Thank you for taking the time to review and share this info.

IMPO I don't believe it is metal point, just happens to have slight resemblance to point.

I am leaning towards this conclusion myself. Thanks for having a look, and thank you for your service to this great country of ours.
