Boy what a day Rick and I had out on one of the fields we have recently been given permission to hunt. It was a stunning day from the moment we drove up to the field and saw a mother dear and her small fawn in one of the fields, unfortunately we couldn't get the camera out fast enouph to get a pic of them. It was 0630, the air was freash and clear, the sun was out and it was a perfect temp for hunting, you just don't get it any better then that.
We started out and Rick had got his first copper up with in a few minutes when I notice on top of the hill a small mound so I told Rick I was heading up there to check it out. Sure enouph it was a cellar hole. When Rick had noticed I was hanging around one area he wasn't long heading up the hill and on his way he found a 19 century 6 silver pence. (don't know how I missed that going up the hill). We were getting hits left and right and Rick was killing it on the coppers I was holding my oun though with the relics. by 10:30 it was time to head to the van for a break and on the way down Rick got a signal and dug up a 2nd officers Artillery button (1790-1802) Wow! So I started to head down the hill again when I got a target, and I too dug an identical officers botton, yippy!
So far in the last week or so Rick and I together have got 43 coppers, we have been having a ball.
I also dug up a cannon, Ram rod thimble, one meen looking enfield bullet, pistal ball and some other goodies.

my finds

Roundness in the hole

Iron pot hook

Ricks record day 12 coppers 1 silver and an Officers Artillery button

King of Copper Mountain

After a full day of hunting we just had to stop at the pup for an ice cold beer on the patio and just soak it all in.
HH everyone,
