Detector(s) used
All Garrett: Ace 250 (two), AceApex, VX-9. Have owned just about every Garrett ever made. First three detecter I made myself, with the first one in 1962.
For all you nay-sayers, here is the proof. This is one outing lasting less than three hours in a part of a local park I hadn't detected previously. The two AA cell penlight was about 3 inches down. I pushed the on button, and as you can see, it worked!! No, I didn't replace the cells.

Must have been some previous grading of soil for something that new to be that deep?

If I were you I'd try to find the oldest Park within driving distance and see if you can find any older coins.
Good Luck !

that's pretty cool. My son dug a woman's seiko watch once that was still running.
