Astral Projection... you ever try it?

There have been a few times in my life, while trying to sleep and relaxing, that I've felt I could have left my physical body and gone for a spin... the feeling was right there, so available... it's hard to describe.  I felt like all I had to do was "let myself go" and take a spin around.   

Of course, I'm gutless, and never did it - if it could be done.

I did read all about it years ago and am now wondering if what I felt was the very cusp of Astral Projection or just some weird state of relaxation.  I'm glad It never happened, because I do believe that if my soul was able to leave my physical body that space might be available for something else to come in and occupy it - and my buddy always said it would be a demon.

True or not - I'm staying put.  Have any of you experienced this phenomenon?

Not personally , but had an extended family member who said she traveled in this way all the time.
I reckon I will just stay home and under the covers.

two ways that I know of how to do it....
one is while your sleeping. ever dream you were visiting a friend that lived far away, and the next day or two, you get a call from your friend saying hey, I had a dream about you the other nite...and its the exact same dream you both had..

Or, meditate, and there ya go.. harder to concentrate that way for me..but if I seriously have peace and quiet ( which is a rare thing these days) I can do it.. its very hard to blank your mind out to meditate with absolutely no interuptions whats so ever..

Gypsy - I dunno if It works for time travel! I think it's just fer distance .

Nash - yea, I'm with you. Home and under the covers... I'm a little scared to be out there running around, but when I consider he possibilities of controlled travel like that It's pretty intriguing!

Yes...I've had that feeling of floating outside my body before....but never took a trip anywhere. 8)

Just my two cents, so to speak, but I've read several books on this subject and if I'm not mistaken some claim time travel is also possible!? Guess now we know how banner finds happen!! (Richard) Oh, yeah. Yes I've tried it, but as Jeff said I'm not sure if it was a dream.

More than likely that would be the case. I've seen folks I know are no longer with us at my bedside at times, but then they start to fade away when I start to scrutinize them, so I really don't know? Sleep or dream? Regards, Richard.

Never "projected" myself, or even thought about it. I do frequently 'fly' in my dreams, which I recall and find astounding! Never had any 'rubber band' moments. Might be interesting... -Noodle

I used to dream I was flying - I was still in grade school at the time. I figure it wasn't astral travel b'cause it was daylight in the dream. I remember it felt really cool, though.
