My friend found this today and And sent me pictures from his phone so I apologize for the photographs, he says it appears to be hammered and bronze does anyone know right off the bat what it may be? The only thing you can really read is "Evallxa" thank you.

Will do. Thanks Greg!

Modern copy. Made to look old.

THe pictures are out of focus, plus an edge shot will help as well.

I'm going to see if I can get some better pics of this because it's driving me crazy

looks Roman but a decent image would determine it. Hutch.

Looks too neat to be an ancient hammered Roman coin. If it were really bronze, it would have a deep green patina being in the ground for 170 years or so. Edges look to be slightly rounded. Looks almost mint. That means it was out of circulation for about 1500 years or so....give or take. If you are in doubt, take it to a KNOWLEDGEABLE coin dealer. (My reply to PM that was sent). Not trying to pick at this find.....but using common sense. Maybe it's slightly older than a "modern" copy...but I believe a copy none-the-less.
