I usually hunt Daytona - but this weekend is the beginning of Bike Week 2008. So, I went to the Gulf (I've only been there twice before).
Lots of people out, but the water was too cold for most of them to swim and for me to hunt. Found a little silver-toned, fake-stoned earring almost immediately. Hit very few targets. Decided to check out the deep sand area along the concrete pier... I'd found so many bottle tops and pop tops and pieces of foil that my new policy of 'dig everything' was not looking too promising. However, a thin gold ring was my reward for checking every signal. It's small, but hey, it's a gold ring! Says ROR 10K inside.
On the way home I couldn't help but notice a sleak, shiny, black Lamborghini with the Florida license plate: GAMMBLER. I took that as a sign and pulled off at the Hard Rock Casino. Within 10 minutes I'd won $65 of their money and I left the building before I was tempted to give it back.
Considering everything; the price of gas, parking fees, etc... this time I came out ahead!
So, a pretty good day!
