hey there fellas, I originally came from Perth but been living in Victoria for yonks. Have become a specialist in Jesuits who were in Australia for nearly 2 centuries on the
quiet. I didnt realize how much languages change. I was e mailed by a woman in the USA several weeks ago who wanted to know what 'fortnight' meant.

The language differences never cease to amaze me!!!
My brother talks to alot of yanks and apparently he can't get them to understand meat pies or kebabs Not to mention them not having a word for 'bogged'.

Good to see some other Aussie blokes on ere. Been watching and reading TN for some time and it's a bloody ripper website and I just became a member. I live in Rockhampton, in sunny Qld ( Go the maroons ). Am hoping to make some md trips up to Mt Morgan in the near future (lots of gold, relics and of course hillbillies ) Bonza to see we got Oz represented.

We have had a bit of rain, was a bloody miracle. Bit worrying with the eastern states in the worst drought on record.
I live in Rocky about 30 minutes from the beach at Yeppoon, heaps of good beaches down there. Hav'nt found anything of value yet but hadda lotta fun.
I work as a pawnbroker and I had one old bloke that used to come in with a tupperware container full of rings, old, recent etc.
He lived down at the beach and used to detect but only at night when people would'nt bug him and see what he was up to I guess.
He only ever sold a couple when he needed a little cash but two that I remember were one that was a tiny size (a ladies I guess) but fairly heavy and inside had the old english makers marks etc. Would have loved to know the history of it. The other I remember was a large mans ring, very heavy in 9ct gold with what he told me was a doctor's emblem on the face. Quite cool.
Hopefully he left me some to find

Kia Ora from Mike, I respect this site - and it's bloody good, to see some of my Aussie neighbours, enjoying the pleasure of treasure.
I've grown up reading Treasure Island and moved on to sunken Spanish ship documentaries and beyond.
I admit to a strong Aussie bond

My Mum
was raised near Bondi
Her Mum and Dad buried somewhere in Sydney. I never met them - not yet
Too many treasures to find

There's also some time left (about 80 years I reckon) before I meet my Uncle Jack (John)
took his last journey on HMS Centaur

I find treasures above ground, so far
yet to buy an MD
but that might not be too far away

hey i havent been on for a while but does anybody know of any treasure stories in western australia, because as fas as i know western australia is the the most boring state ever.

Found a couple of stories of treasure being found over there but nothing that is still undiscovered. Try and google a couple of different word combinations and see what comes up.

Ah-mate not boring at all. I read about quite a few shipwrecks laden with gold/coins all over the WA coast.
There are many stories of survivors and such. All of this is prime treasure ingredients! If your library has copies of Australian Gold Gem and Treasure that may help you.
