Australian “Rising Sun” Military badge

I found an Australian Commonwealth Military Forces badge circa 1904-1949 today! Also found a broken ring made in West Germany. I think it’s silver but the band is gone.

I’ve found a lot of items in this area from the late 30’s through the 40’s. Probably someone coming back from WWII that served in the South Pacific.
