Very light weight.

Sorry Frank, Civil War era I presume. Worn by Military and civilian durring the Civil war.
Notice the solder marks on the back. :-\
That's what is throwing me off to be of period. :icon_scratch:


*The Irish Brigade was an infantry brigade, consisting predominantly of Irish immigrants, that served in the Union Army in the American Civil War. The designation of the first regiment in the brigade, the 69th New York Infantry, or the "Fighting 69th", continued in later wars. They were known in part for their famous warcry, the "faugh a ballagh", which is an anglicization of the Irish phrase, fág an bealach, meaning "clear the way".
Worn by members of the Irish Brigade as well as many Irish-Americans on both sides during the Civil War.

My hunch is that you have found the real deal--and it is one heck of a find. The attachments look right, the detail is spot on, and the size is correct.

It's definitely better made than a cheap fake.
