After church I went to a field that was turned last week and had had a good rain on it over night. Although I only found one whole point in the two hour hunt it was definitely worth it. It is 41/4 inches long. I was pretty stoked when I found it!!

a very outstanding projectile point. i though it was a morrow mountain till i read what you said about a marion. Could somebody please tell me the difference between them, thank you i hope. Terry

I saw a 4 inch spear point (thats what he called it) in the TN tri-cities craigs list today for sale,,,, $300.00,,,,that would be $150.00 an hour. Just thinking.

Congrats on that,,I`d be shaking so bad I`d drop it and break it...sure is a pretty thing.

What a great find but I am not surprised. You have shown many high quality points from your area. But this one does stand out for this year anyways ,,lol.
Cheers

I don't know what a marion is, but I do know that morrow mountain is located near Asheboro, NC. This mountain is one of the most extensive prehistoric quarries in the US. It contains millions of tons of quarrying debris and angular shaped rocks left behind by prehistoric people. These stones are composed mainly of rhyolite and they are unusual because they are so uniform. I have read that archaeologists have found tools made from this mountain in a radius 120 miles.

Congrats on that one!
Killer point.

Congratulations! Very nice point.

wow that is so symetric
