AZ 2018 Firefighter of the Year

Here is PeteyGirl with Sabas Cruz-Miranda, Arizona's Firefighter of the year. He has already been awarded his "turnouts" at the official ceremony. Today, PeteyGirl and I gave him four Diamondbacks dugout seats to the weekend game of his choice. We also brought over two loaded fire extinguishers. The entire EMT crew from the Picture Rocks Fire station (including Sabas) turned out to greet us today. Fantastic group of heroes!


On the way there we discovered our THIRD crowned cactus. It is on Sandario Rd just north of the Saguaro National Park.

Whoa, people! I just went along for the ride. PeteyGirl was following upon loose ends. The ceremony was on the 6th and his sponsored gifts are still rolling in. United Fire has been sponsoring the AZ FF of the year for 25 years.


PG does the paperwork and, in my opinion, it wouldn't happen without her hours and hours of work!

She used to be as tall as this guy but all the work has taken its toll! Yet now, at 5-1 and 108, she is still a stick of dynamite! TTC
