Hello all you AZ members of Treasure Net.

Here is a thread designed for one thing... Checking in and getting out with fellow AZ members. I see that there are a few AZ members who have gotten together and had some fun prospecting. I am kinda jealous. I, and hopefully other members from AZ also, would like to get to know our peers in person. See who like to shovel, and who like to watch shoveling happen... J/K.

I see some members are passing through the area I live in and I would love to get involved.

I will start it off. I live in Glendale, and don't have a truck. ( I have a company truck, but that is a big no-no) I have a drywasher, and a MD. I have my daughter every other weekend, and have the FEVER. I have a membership with Roadrunners. We have claims at Rich Hill, near Vulture Mine, and near Old Woman Gulch outside of Morristown. Anybody wants to set up a day of digging, let me know. I will be waiting at the end of the drive with too much equipment....

Well AZ guys I bailed out of Morristown due to the heat and am spending the summer in WA. I did get to stop at the Yuba River for a short days sluicing thanks to my friend Scott. Beautiful country up there. I drove mostly back roads on the way to WA and saw some amazing scenery. Good to get off the Interstates. http://smg.photobucket.com/user/CaptDick43/media/Gold Prospecting/2014-05-30101609.jpg.html http://smg.photobucket.com/user/CaptDick43/media/Gold Prospecting/2014-06-04124051.jpg.html http://smg.photobucket.com/user/CaptDick43/media/Gold Prospecting/2014-05-30103057.jpg.html

That's what I'm talking about...let's go

Some of the take home from 4 hours or work up by Lynx.

Pretty nice.
How much cleaned up.

I'm not sure yet, I have what you see to run through my table, an additional cup and a half and the larger pieces I have in my snuffle bottle . Unfortunately, project deadlines and milestones are hindering my progress. I'll post as soon as I finish the final clean up.

I've been away a bit and people are leaving this heat?
I don't blame ya though. Much easier to play when temps are cooler. Good luck up there and come back soon. Maybe we could all do a group meet at a point

Thanks all. The heat doesn't bother me, I've been places hotter and far more miserable. I'll just have to change tactics a little and work more at night digging and run cons during the day when I'm out in this heat, or just take the cons home and process there. Arizona presents an interesting challenge with the lack of water, and I can't wait to get out and do more diggin'.

Hey Will
Garret here. What part of the valley ya in? I try to get up by Stanton area once a month. Well except lately. Just haven't had my energy lately. So I need to build it up. I'm hoping to do a trip up in the next month or two. It would probably be a night dig and process during the day. I just need to fine tune my spray bar system. I'm trying to figure a way to just dump my water and just run continuously. Cleaning out the debris. Plus I'm playing with two pumps instead of one.
Oh well. Enough of that.
Welcome to TNet. If you'd like to go hit some areas I'm game.

Anybody been going detecting in the bradshaws lately? I'm thinking of doing a day trip. I just need to figure out the open areas. I have a buddy that went up there and was impressed at what he found. Copper and gold. His buddies were drywashing. Their take was over 3 oz for four days and 200+ buckets. Part of that was a 1+ oz nugget that they detected. I don't know the area they were at, but it does show ya that places are there and open for us to hit. Just need to start researching the area. So if anybody would like to possibly go do some detecting up there. Let me know. I'm going to start my search soon. Already had a couple spots picked a couple months ago, but kinda hit a wall. So looking to start up again.

I am open on the weekends.
Give me a pm, and I will answer you back with my phone number.
Somero would probably be interested as well.
I have to call him as we are going out in a week i think.

The fires here in WA have put a damper on getting out for now. It's really bad and my GF's retreat center in central WA is at great risk as I type this. No news getting out from there as the power lines and cell towers have all burned. The town over there was evacuated last night and we are on pins and needles waiting to hear some news. Not knowing is the pits.

I am planning to be back in AZ in Sep or Oct if possible. I am anxious to do some prospecting in new to me areas this fall and winter. That is if I am physically able. Been having trouble with some hardware in my left leg and not able to hike long distances. I am hopeful it resolves itself without surgery again.

A group outing would be good. But getting miners/prospectors together is sorta like herding cats :-). Maybe we can pull it off though.

Hi Stan,

Sorry to hear of your troubles with the leg. I have made a total recovery of my shoulder replacement and my knee has healed up AOK. Mining and Prospecting has been placed on hold for me though. It's tough cause I want to go out but I can't. I keep telling myself its best to just wait until it cools off where it will be more enjoyable. With my Fathers condition its a day to day ordeal as he has his good days and bad days.

Garret,

I would be game at some point of dragging the gear northward and spend a weekend running the trommel if your game, just don't know when though... I am buying a 6' x 12" enclosed trailer soon that has a ramp in the rear and side door. This is going to house all my gear and rough it with tents, etc. going back to my hunting days.

hello I just joined the site yesterday. I live in Mesa Arizona. My soon and I just purchased two whites machines the SGT and MXT. honestly we have the machines but no equipment, and not sure way to buy a cheap quality equipment. The wife think I spent too much money already. Lol. We would like to stay around here but have seen a lot of Awesome facts about rich HilL. possibly when it gets cooler out maybe in September we could go with you. We have never gold prospecting before anything like that but you still have a couple months. Just let me know I'm not sure if I get notifications for this site or if I have to check back for messages. And if you ever come to the Mesa area and no any good spots let me know. I'm still so new at this I don't even know if I'm allowed to use my metal detector at a park because there's so much information on BLM and all the sites about restrictions.

I live in East Mesa and im looking for some cheap equipment because my wife thinks I overspent on getting my two whites machines. Laugh out loud. But I said it will pay out sooner then later and I believe it. maybe we can hook up one day and go together but my main question is since I'm not too familiar that metal detecting as I just bought them, where can I go where its not restricted land private land or anything like that? I've been searching websites and so confusing and I'm not sure I'm finding any kind of maps where I can't go hunt where it's not illegal

I am new at metal detecting. My son and I just bought Whites SGT and MXT. we are super excited about it all. We still have yet to buy any tools for digging lol. We are so lost when it boils down to all of the information on the web pertaining where we can hunt, like Superstition Mountains in Apache Junction, parks, Riverbanks, dry washes, private land, mining etc. we have seen some posts about Terry Solomon and some veterans posts comments about Rich Hill and clubs but we don't even know where to start with anything like that we would like to stay close to like Superstition Mountains, Apache Junction Arizona. we live in Mesa Arizona now. not sure we could just randomly go and find a vein and follow it or a dry river or wash in follow that. Looking at websites, blm etc. it is so confusing, anyone have any information or advice is what to do and where to start? Thanks.

Did you get a Superstition Mountain Treasure Hunter's Club membership with that Whites? They have several claims around Arizona including a particularly good one on Rich Hill. They have well organized club prospecting outings and are great people to show you the ropes.

gpaa of phoenix.
Or Promack in AJ.
Promock is on main street, between meridian, and ironwood.
North side of the street, just east of Walmart.
Blue building.
Contact sgtfda here on the forum to directions to the gpaa of phoenix.
He is an officer there.

Well if you go with a trailer. You could hook it to the car and get to spots cheaper. Gas wise at least.
I've got to start thinking about possibly getting a quad. Would make it easier for me to get to a couple areas to go detect or even prospect at.
Next time you get up here, let me know. We'll do lunch or something.

Ok my last comment was directed to another person. Ughhh. Turn 44 and start losing it. Sorry about that.

There's Promack in AJ and then A & B Prospecting in Mesa. Both are on Main Street. Just depends on what you're looking for.
I spent months checking out metal detectors. Hoping to find what worked best. Then always watched prices.
I'd just tell her, that at least this hobby can have some return. Compared to fishing, gold, etc.
that's what I tell mine. You could practice at parks and other public places. Just you've got to fill your holes. In areas that are for public use you don't want somebody to twist an ankle, or worse.

State land and national/state parks are off limits.

Some places you just need to ask.

I've talked to forest rangers and never had an issue. Then again, I tell them I'm cleaning the grounds, and then show all the brass and lead I've taken from the area. Lol. They tell me thanks and to keep up the good work.
The main thing is to know where you're detecting. As far as land being claimed or open. Very critical about that. Big process but not too difficult. Then there's software programs out there. Talk to Clay Diggings. Plus there's other ways I could show you about checking status.
After all they say, To start your search in areas that have already produced.
You can PM me, I do live in Mesa as well, so be happy to help out.

Dang talk of project deadlines and milestones, takes me back to when I was a working man.
I do miss those days. Been 5 years on disability and going bonkers.

Hey Garret,

I live in Chandler. I've not been up into Stanton yet, any running or standing water without the restrictions of the Lynx mineral withdraw area? I would really like to test out my highbanker I built, well, after I finish the spray bar system. I'm using a 150GPM pump incase I were to ever add a dredge to the arnsenal. I could run 2 or 3 HBs at once with this pump, as long as I didn't have too much head over the pump. I'm always game to hitting up anywhere. So far, I have looked at the Agua Fria, which is tough for me to access with no truck yet, and the Lynx area, below the dam, just above the lake and around Bannie Mine road to the north and south. I'm game all the time, it's the wife that lets me go play. Let me know when you are going out next and I will do the same. Thanks Garret.
