Well Spain might have valid argument if it admitted to its own liabilities.
For example 400 years of occupation of exploitation of the new world or recent history that tends to be ignored the fact the Spain provided materials to Nazi German to manufacture weapons and ammunition that prolonged WW2 in Europe for 2 years all the while accepting looted gold from the Nazis. Resulted in millions of deaths of civilians and Allied troops. Not once an admission of guilt or financial restitution for the cultural theft and destruction they wrought through out their history in which they chose to ignore. Yet have the Gaul to scream cultural patrimony when it suits them. Especially if plunder is involved.
