Hi All,

New here and having loads of fun checking things out.
Just like to show what I got after hooking up with 3 locals in the canyon, it was my 1st. time doing this, hard work lots of fun 3 Saturdays in a row, I moved away and have not been back YET!
after a 4 way split this was what my take was, not much BUT I did have fun.

What do you mean not much? That's great on a 4 way.
Gold is Gold. This ain't like Australia, where the nuggets are so big you throw the small one back.
You have some nice chunky stuff there.
I do most of my mining up there.
Could I ask, where abouts on the river were you?
Very Good, Hows your back?:icon_thumright:

Thanks Aurabbit79er, it's been 3 plus yrs. I'm thinking 3 miles, could be more, I just follow...LOL!
at the end of the day I didn't think I was going to be able to move, I had a 50
mile drive home on top of that. Would I do it again.....YOU BET!

That's a fact.
When hauling a ton a gear, digging all day, then hiking miles back to the lot, you will question your motives.
I still do, but I still come back up as soon as I get a chance.
I'll be bringing my mountain mining bike this trip.
There is a homemade trailer hitch to drag a Home Depot hand truck to haul my ton-o-gear.
Ok, I can't go more than a mile past Heaton Flats but that still covers a wide area.
Kinda a modern day mule.
Turned a 30 min. hike into a 10 min. ride
I made a big wheel 2 wheel cart, but once when I was tired I lost control on a steep trail.
It tumbled down 20' to the stream. Almost took me with it.
Broke it.
Not a great picture but,OldSourdough.webp
That was when I decided to use a bike.
If I won the lottery Today I'd be mining the next day.
God I love mining.

I had that same idea and had wondered how far up a bike could take me. Do you know how far past heaton flats is it possible to bike? That would definitely shorten the trip and ease the load too. Sounds like you almost had a good spill. Glad you got off in time! So the trail gets steep in places?
