Well, it's another great day in southern California, 80 + degrees. I decided to go sluicing on the rivers big bend just below the parking lot. The sun god blessed me, however, the gold god said. " Not today." I dug deep in the river behind three large file cabet sized boulders. I pulled up some heavy black sand from behind these half submerged rocks. I slucied through 12 buckets and then called it a day. I panned out my concentrates. I got the normal black sand, and a few black dense BB sized pebbles, and one dense vein-like mystery metal. The gold was minimal and pathetic, but I think the mystery metal I found was...platinum! My question is, does Azusa canyon have platinum?

News about San Gabriel river heading up to east fork... hwy 39 closed till next tuesday. Due to major rocksides landing on roadside. The Gendora fire is 82 percent contained. I got this information from CALTRANS.
