B&M Co

my girl friend found a tag that says b & m Co 224 on it its round n has a decrativer outline of solid circles it came out of a field that a 1835 large cent so im thinking it dates mid 19th to early 20 century

Considering the probable time period, I'd guess a railroad tag from the Boston and Maine RR.

Sounds more like a tool tag or locker tag. Could still be RR related. Post a pic :icon_thumright:

Ha! Spike, I think you mean plunge in with a completely off the wall guess?

You got that right, I have no real idea. While we're waiting for the picture, maybe a clue to the general area of the country might help too, say for instance is it near Massachusetts (the home of the world's finest baked bean!) or Maine?
