There are many formulas for standard grade babbitt but they fall into two main classifications:


Babbitt Classification

Tin-Based Babbitt
Lead Based Babbitt

I'm not sure what I have here Lead based or Tin based...

Well if you google it, it says you have lead-based material.

Google up Tufftex & see what the cost is. Then go over to smokestack.com and put it up for sale, or just put it up for sale for best offer. You'll get more for it than scrapping it. A lot of those guys are always looking for material to restore babbitt bearings.
