Well, I finally got a chance to get back out to my freinds ranch last weekend to do some hunting around the old cabin site...Since it is out in the middle of nowhere, the site was very overgrown and tough to hunt at....luckily there were some bare patches from deer, and pigs rooting around, so I hunted those spots. I once again found many pieces of broken pottery, and china, lots of square nails, and of course lots of iron....some of the iron items were parts of a door hinge, (two different styles, one being for a gate I assume), parts of a stove lid (these were actually found about 20 feet apart, and a day apart), a buckle that looks as if it is from a chest, and with it, some other iron piece I cannot identify....it appears to have two mounting holes on either side...I also found pieces of what appears to be some tin bowls. Found another mule shoe, and pieces of two others that are way different...maybe a pony shoe and a horse shoe....also uncovered was a .44 Winchester casing, and from what I could find on the internet, dates from 1875-1885...I will post some of the whatsits that I need help id'ing in the what is it section as well....More photos from last weekend in another post....Thanks in advance for any help, and as always, thanks for stopping by and taking a look...
