I couldn't stand it anymore! I just had to have a Minelab, so I bought great used SE from GoldenRoyBoy. (He's a class act if you are ever thinking of buying anything from him.) Wow! It's a whole different kind of animal than what I'm used to!
Well, I'm trying to get some practice with it, so Watercolor & I went out to an old camp last Friday and today. Last Friday I picked up two wheats, a 1935 & a 1936, as well as a '63 Rosie. Today, I was able to spend a lot of time there. About 2 hours into the hunt, I found a gorgeous '37 Merc of my own. She's a little worn & scratchy, but her good looks shine through.
The Merc dime is my favorite coin, so this made my day.
The rest of the hunt wasn't too productive, giving up a canteen lid, part of a sink drain, a lovely little broken ring from Hong Kong, a blank button and 78 cents in clad. (and a bunch of other crap...)
The penny on the right was 6 or 7 inches deep and came out as a green disk in a clump of dirt. It was a fooler. Thought I had an Indian, but it turned out to be vintage 1981...
Later in the day, a couple of girls came out of the woods to have a picnic. It seemed the older one just couldn't keep her eyes off of me.
It was a great day! Thanks Mark!
