The ground here is pretty much frozen except for about the first inch...but I headed out to a local elementary school/sports complex today…36 degrees and raining…I’ve been once before to hit the woodchip tot lots and was hoping to find a few of the other areas around the many ball fields soft enough to dig ....well they were few and far between but I did manage to pull out a personal best 76 coins...including a ‘53 wheatie and a piece of a small chain…the good news is I passed over literally 100’s of good signals that I was unable to dig… the school dates back to the early 60’s with most of the fields added in the late 80’s….don’t know who has been detecting it, but based on my the surface finds, the number of good targets…It doesn’t appear to be anyone’s favorite hunting spot…come spring I’ll be heading back….BTW I found a plastic quart size baggie with the top cut off and a small slit on one side made a perfect fitting raincoat for my ace…thanks for looking

Nice chunk of change there my friend. Glad you were able to get out. Seems like you have a honeyhole for awhile. GL and hope you find a lot more.

Good digs, especially for frozen ground,,, Congrats!!!
Another thing I have found to make good rain covers are the plastic salad bowl covers. They come in several different size and have an elastic band on them that make for a good fit...
Continued Good luck, & Happy hunting~
