Mary and I went to a park right on the creek in our town. Found a few things there, old hunters button from the 1800's, a couple of early 1800's LC's, and a bunch of old beer cans. Mary found a flat button at the same time I found what I think is a Bedford Militia 3rd pattern button from 1806-1824. The War of 1812 was fought in my area (40 miles from Buffalo) so I'm hoping it's from the War of 1812 or a souvenir from the war. All the gilt is gone. Maybe someone can confirm my button!

Thank you very much!

Nice British military button!

Thanks! It was getting dark when I flipped it out and thought it was just an ordinary button. Then I got it home and really looked at it!

Thank you! Hope I'm right!

I looked a little more online and this might not be a gold gilt button. They made them in just pewter.

That is an awesome old button with great history. Finding a crotal Bell with a size number is cool. Congrats!

Nice finds. Congrats

CRUSADER thanks for the help!

Button back looks nothing like this at all. Had to mess with the hue and contrast so I could read the button back. It says "STAND.COL.TREBLE.GILT"

I'm not familiar with this button, & sadly that back-mark doesn't help me much. Can you do a clear shot of the Crown on the front side? At the moment I'm thinking 1830s??

PS. According to other sites the back-mark is 1800-1820, what is odd is they are normally 1 piece. Yours looks 2 piece, which breaks the mould a little but some button types do. At this point, with the crown type looking pre-Vicky, I think 1812 is pretty close.
