haha...happens to us all...cool finding the toys thou..my kid loves all the cars and toys i find..i found some legos a few days ago..those things aint cheap :laughing7:

Keep at it...Learn them beeps

Tot lots are a good place to learn your machine when you first start out. Next you want to move on to yards of older houses. Surely you know some people that live in older (75 +) year old houses.

check those little hot wheels cars, some of them are worth some cash!
happy huntin!

Hi FarmerChick , How bad could it be :icon_scratch: Outdoors , getting exercise , found some Hot Wheels , and the Batmobile is always a cool find  sounds good to me !! I cherish the one I found , it is on a shelf , near my PC , seriously , George Barris designed & built the famous TV car and I have talked with him at numerous custom car shows ..great person ! Not a bad dig at all, dawg

heh girl !! keep it going ...one thing about this m/ding is ....you never know..and just when you think its another dead day....ping...your on fire and doing a chicken dance....take care..des from n/z

Hey Chick! How can you call a day that produces 9 Hot Wheel cars a bust? I have only found, maybe, 5 in 4 months. Anyway, hang in there, the good stuff will come with time!

Nice Finds!
I have not had much luck in parks either,
Keep at it and your finds will come,
do you live near the coast?, try to find areas where things were made or repaired,
old businesses, old train stations, try punching 'texas old maps' into your searchbar,
you should find sites with free old maps to compare & find sites in your area  Best Digs to You!

thanks all for the encouragement ya'll

it means alot cause that "one beep from a great find" keeps me going lol

I found some old maps of Catawba county....then I saw some history about my county.....biggest gold producer in country before Calif. hit.....then I started searching gold creeks etc in my county...then I started checking into civil war sites/battlefields in my county...

oh man now my mind is everwhere...lol

research seems daunting now but I think I will start checking more into what truly is in my area.

very cool

congratulations on the car lot. LOL

Hey ya gotta remember that it's all fun ;D
I have hit some nice gold and silver in tot lots ,just keep looking

Sounds like a good day to me ... :laughing7:

but make sure ya check those hotwheels ... kids have been known to play with the more " collectible" ones.. redline wheels or look on the bottom for a treasure hunt marking........just sayin

keep on swinging

Hey, sounds like you have a whole host of places to detect. Thanks and keep diggin'... :icon_thumleft:...PP

You don't even know how close you are to finding a good spot. Do you?

I'd tell you, but then I'd be giving up my good spots. And that would just ruin all those hours of research you need to do first! LOL

Set your mind as if you had no modern transportation and no running water. THAT is the ONLY clue you will need to be successful where you live. Now we should be running into each other in those woods.

I will be taking a closer look at those hot wheels now...lol

thanks ya'll

OK 4-H
you got my mind reeling big time. No I don't know how close I am to a great spot
:laughing7: :dontknow: seriously LOL

but I am slowly figuring all this out and yup, one day, I will hit lol

you are funny! you had me laughing on that post...and got me thinking deep...which might not be a good thing :laughing9:

hmmmm no transportation or running water, where people drop stuff, where people might bury stuff, hmmmm.....ok I am thinking !! :icon_scratch:
