I've never CRH nickels but I have a chance to get a bag of nickels... Worth it? I've always just stuck to dimes and halves

That just depends on how you feel about nickels. They aren't for everyone.

I know the silver war nickels would be valuable... But what about other nickels? Is it worth it monetarily I should say

I would.

I have only done one bag though ($200) and I only got 3 War nicks, no buffs or Vs, and about $4 in pre-60 nickels. It was also short ~$12.

But, I like to hunt and collect nickels. That's just me though.

I'm at the bank now and I think they said their bags of nickels are $1000... 20,000 nickels to sift through might take some time

I do 300 in nickels a week and I really like to look through them. There not for the person that only searches for a profit though

Monetarily?

No.

Most coin shops around here only pay $1 or less for war nicks, so if you're wanting to make money off of them, it won't be much.

I just do it because I like date checking and looking for silvers, proofs, and anything before Jefferson nickels.

I doubt that would be correct.

$1,000 in nickels would weigh over 220 pounds...

Its most likely $200.

Awesome! I'll pull those out as I go through

Question for you, what bank do you work with that will sell you bags? I never can find one that will sell me bags. :(

I would go for it... just the fact that you have the ability to purchase bags is a great thing, i would buy every bag I could get my hands on-- as long as you're sure it's not a true crh dump.
Bags of coins have their advantages and disadvantages; shortages are the disadvantage whether the count be off, or filled with washers or foreign... but your chance of getting grandpa's stolen collection is greater too. let us know how you do!
